for everyone
Category:Movies
Genre: Drama
I really loved Finding Neverland. Johnny Depp plays J.M. Barrie a famous playwright who had recently written several unsuccessful plays. He meets four young boys and their widowed mother (Kate Winslet) one day in the park. He starts spending a lot of time with them and is inspired to write Peter Pan.

I thought it was such a beautiful, sweet and tender story. I also loved the scenery and the dress of the time period. Oh, and I cried of course, as did everyone else in the movie.

So where does this movie stand with the rest of the Oscar nominated films?

Haven't seen it, but I've been dying to...

I wouldn't expect it to win, but I really loved it.

I'm sure I will miss this one, like I miss many others these days. But for sure, I'm gonna rent copies in the future. I'm putting this in my list.

Tracy -- I completely agree with you about this movie. I wanted it to win best picture but knew that Million Dollar Baby would. And I'm OK with that (loved that movie too). I ranked these two movies first and second in the Best Picture category and didn't care in which order they fell.

I didn't think Aviator was best picture quality when compared to these two but I did think it deserved all the costuming, art direction, etc awards. I also thought Leo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett deserved their noms.

I liked Sideways -- but think that for some reason mid-life crisis is being too critically acclaimed lately, maybe all the critics are experiencing it! (wasn't a fan of Lost in Translation last year)

And, I haven't seen Ray -- so maybe this review is completely off! :)

By the way, I was most psyched that Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind won best original screenplay. I am a big fan of Charlie Kaufman movies (which I recently just realized) for their originality and writing.

I agree, I just saw this movie at the Arlington Cinema Draft House 2 weekends ago and it was great. I thought it was beautiful. I didnt know there was going to be such sad and tender moments, I wasnt prepared to cry so much! Great movie, Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet are perfectly cast.

I finally got Kurt to sit down to it last night and we LOVED it. Johnny Depp was amazing, again. I loved Barrie's mind and how Depp and the director portrayed his vision.
