Today I wanted to see "Finding Neverland" but since I didn’t plan accordingly I ended up seeing "The Wedding Date" in order to avoid having to walk around in the cold. I liked it okay, but it’s definitely not the best of the romantic comedy genre. Keep in mind that I’m easily pleased and love a good romantic comedy, however, I just didn’t find it that interesting. I’d say the two reasons to see this movie (and you can wait to rent it) are Dermot Mulroney whispering to Debra Messing up against the car and Dermot Mulroney and Debra Messing in the boat. Oh, and you could leave out Debra Messing from those scenes and they would be equally as enjoyable!
I did give it 3 stars though because it was cute and mildly entertaining.
Netflix Synopsis:
Kat (Debra Messing) can't stomach the idea of attending her sister's London wedding, where her ex-boyfriend, who had ceremoniously dumped Kat perilously close to the altar, will likely be a guest. But duty calls and she must fly in for the torturous affair, which she decides may be more palatable if she seeks companionship of a different sort … that of a male escort (Dermot Mulroney). Sparks fly as love finds its way in this romantic comedy.
