This movie was excellent. It's about Pai, the heir to the throne of a maori tribe, who must prove herself to her grandfather who is dissapointed because she is a girl. Her twin brother would have been heir to the throne, but he died during childbirth along with Pai's mother. Throughout the movie little Pai won't accept that her grandfather isn't pleased with having a granddaughter. She constantly gets in trouble with him while trying to make him proud and show that she can do what is necessary to fill her role. It's a very touching story. This little girl is adorable and she will break your heart.
