This was a fine film, but I agree -- it's not for everyone. If you hated "Coffee and Cigarettes," well join the club. But you should still see this film. Bill Murray plays a similar role as the one he played in "Lost in Translation." His performance is, nevertheless, refreshing. He has an uncanny ability to portray many different emotions in very few words, or the minutest gesture. There are also some very worthwhile performances by Sharon Stone and Tilda Swinton. Chloe Sevigny is also in this film, as is Jessica Lange, who plays Carmen, a hippie-divorcee/"animal communicator." Wild stuff.
Don't see the film looking for answers. I think Bill Murray's character achieves some kind of redemption, but it's not clear exactly what that is. And it's better not to know.
