for everyone
Category:Movies
Genre: Romance
I have mixed feelings after watching Alfie. As a woman, I feel like I should be offended because of the way Alfie treats women. Even though he does question his treatment of women throughout the film when he sees how he’s hurt them, I was still left wondering if he was ever going to change his womanizing ways.

However, I still enjoyed the movie for what it was. It’s a stylish, sexy New York film and Jude Law is in it looking his best. Need I say more? He’s definitely believable in this role as I’m sure “most” women would find him irresistible. The woman who played opposite him (Marisa Tomei, Nia Long, Jane Krakowski, Sienna Miller, Susan Sarandon) were fantastic in the movie too. So I recommend the movie, but if you think you’ll be offended by seeing a cocky womanizer who loves them and leaves them and may or may not change his ways, you should skip it. But if you can just enjoy it for what it is and enjoy the visual appeal of the characters and NYC go for it!

Netflix Synopsis: Jude Law reprises the title role made famous by Michael Caine (who got an Oscar nod for his portrayal) and makes it his own in this stylish remake. Alfie (Law), a self-aware British cad living in New York, falls in lust too easily and can't commit to one woman, leaving a string of heartache in his wake. When one of his many lovers gets pregnant and it appears he's finally smitten with a woman for good, Alfie begins to question his existence.

Hmmm...sounds like seeing M. Caine's version will have to be enough for me, as he did a faboo job. But I do love J. Law. What was that military movie he was in? My god, but he was hot.

Don't get me wrong.....J. Law did a great job with the role too! It's definitely worth watching him in the movie!

No, it wasn't your review. It's just my personal belief that if the movie isn't broken, it shouldn't be "fixed". Why try to remake? It's dangerous, because there will always be a comparison (it's bad enough when they turn a book into a movie and we all say, "The book was better"!) Since there are only 7 plots (or so it's purported), it's not like we, as consumers, aren't used to seeing the same basic storyline redone. But why use the same script? Aren't there clever enough writers out there to make an original script?

Some say more (15 ro 20), some say 3 Original Plots.

I don't think, though that your rule applies to all movies. Ocean's Eleven, for instance. I thought the George Clooney version was much more interesting than the original. On the flip side, there's Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. While I LOVE Bernie Mac, I think Guess Who is going to make a mockary of the original CLASSIC.

Enemy at the Gate
I Agree, AWESOME movie. I am not, however, a big fan of Jude Law - in terms of looks. I much prefer Ed Harris.

Ed Harris to Jude Law? What the heck's wrong with you? On second thought, you can have Ed Harris and I will take Jude Law. =)

I didn't, and you certainly didn't either! And of course he's a real man - only a real man could take care of you.
