Typically, money is unclaimed when someone moves, dies, or changes names. Your odds of hitting pay dirt? About 1 in 44.

I checked and I don't have any money waiting for me. :-( Maybe my husband does?!?!?

They make it such a pain to collect anything. I just checked my dad's name and he has un-resolved acounts all over the place. I wonder if it is really worth the hassle.
My husband as well has 1 account.
I checked my own name and I came up 3 times under my father (I spose if I am a beneficiary to something)
My Mom
my sister
My Father in law
My Brother in law

Most of it is insurance companies etc. - thanks Tracy.

Is it really that much of a hassle? I didn't read the details since I didn't have anything. I would definitely look into it! Maybe you have a lot of money coming your way?

I found what looks like an old paycheck from my college job, and some stuff for my husband frm his college. Both are in Kansas, and it e-mailed me forms to fill out and send in. I guess the details vary by state, Looks like I need to add proof of SSN, proof of ties to the last known address or the payee (a copy of a tax form, or cancelled envelope, or...)
and values over $500 require a notary signature. Worth a try...

that's not a bad thing... it just means your money has all been being used or earning interest.. not sitting around doing nothing for 15 years...

Interesting - we knew about three for my husband. It has beenon his list for some time to claim, but there were also 3 for his deceased father. Three more to add to his list. I like it when his list grows and not mine.

Thanks Tracy---

Nothing for me. I will have to check for Bob. If he gets anything, I'll see if he will share it with you. Sorry, nothing for him, either. Guess we aren't living right.
