Blog EntryU2 Sighting on Columbus AvenueNov 22, '04 1:37 PM
for everyone
Today at around 12:30 pm I had just put Lyla down for her nap. I was so grateful to have so time to rest since Lyla and I have both been suffering from the flu. Well, I suddenly heard loud music blaring outside my apt (for those who don't know we live on the 2nd floor on Columbus Ave). My first instinct was to run to the window because I was convinced it was some annoying high school kids playing their music and I was going to have to yell at them for waking up my child. Well, when I opened the blinds I first recognized Bono on a trailer being pulled down Columbus Ave. and then realized U2 was putting on some sort of performance. There were cameras behind the trailer and there was some sort of police escort as well. It was pretty cool! Needless to say, I didn't yell at U2 to keep the music down.

I did do a seach and found the following blog.

So if anyone is in NYC today, you should be on the lookout in case there are other opportunities to see them.

yeah, i was joking to dave that if they were making a video maybe I could have gotten on it. you would hear the crabby mom in the background yelling "keep the noise down! my baby is trying to sleep!"

Looks like they have made it down to my side of town. My friend from work just came back from lunch and saw them performing on Canal!

aparently they are performing right now downtown

In New York City - Today!
The rumours are true - the band are set to appear in a few hours time in New York City. Details below.

U2 will make a brief TV taping at The Empire, Fulton Ferry State Park, east side of the East River, just north of Brooklyn Bridge.

This will be part of a TV shoot - if you are close enough and can get down there, word is that you should be there for 3pm! No tickets required. (Enter the park on Plymouth and Water Street; subway: A or C Trains to High Street or F Train to York Street.)

Great way to celebrate the release of 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb'

Would have loved to see U2...I guess I'll have to pay to see them like the rest of the working stiffs who can't make it out of the office.

The upside is that I downloaded a bootleg copy of their album earlier this month off the Web and have been listening to it nonstop.

Just watched the coverage of this on the 5:00 news. They showed helicopter footage of them on the back of a trailer, being towed through the city streets, for their upcoming video, "All Because of You".

They also showed the MASSES of people in Brooklyn for the free concert (still going on). Looks great! Glad you got to hear some of it live at home!

Feel better soon!
